Rev. Wayne Alloway joins the First-Plymouth staff in a part-time ministry role focused on congregational care, funerals, and general pastoral ministry. He brings more than 40 years of pastoral experience and a deep commitment to preaching, pastoral care, generosity, and communicating the grace and love of God in ways that connect with everyday life.
Wayne spent the first 18 years of his life in India, where his parents, Lyle and Ruth Alloway, served as Salvation Army medical missionaries. His father was a physician and his mother a nurse. Wayne attended Kodaikanal International School, a boarding school in the mountains of South India, before coming to the United States for college.
He earned a B.A. in Philosophy from Northwest Nazarene College in Nampa, Idaho, and a Master of Divinity degree from Garrett-Evangelical Theological Seminary in Evanston, Illinois.
Wayne began his pastoral ministry in 1984, serving United Methodist congregations throughout Nebraska, including churches in Scotia, Shelton, and Lincoln. Most recently, he served as senior pastor of St. Mark’s United Methodist Church in Lincoln, a position he held until July 2025.
Wayne has long been connected to and admired the ministry of First-Plymouth. He has shared a longstanding friendship with Senior Minister Dr. Jim Keck, as well as a friendship and mentorship with the late Rev. Otis Young, a former First-Plymouth senior minister.
Wayne is married to Analise, and they have two grown children, Sarah and Peter, and four grandchildren: Wyatt, Jayde, James, and Lea.
Outside of church, Wayne enjoys golf, reading, and cooking Indian food—a passion inspired by his childhood in India.
