OFFICE ADMINISTRATOR - MUSIC MINISTRY & ABENDMUSIK (PART-TIME)

POSITION SUMMARY: The Office Administrator provides comprehensive administrative and operational support for the Music Ministry and Abendmusik programs. This role ensures effective communication, organized workflow, accurate financial processing, and smooth coordination of events, rehearsals, worship services, and program logistics. The position supports the Minister of Music, Associate Minister of Music, Executive Director of Abendmusik, church staff, and volunteers.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

1.     ADMINISTRATIVE FUNCTIONS(Unless otherwise noted, the responsibilities apply to both Music Ministry and Abendmusik.)
a.     Answer incoming calls and messages in a timely manner and serve as primary point of communication.
b.     Prepare internal and external communications and assist with promotional activities.
c.     Coordinate the building calendar for events.
d.     Manage copying, printing, mailing, and scanning of materials.
e.     Review and process invoices and reconcile credit card statements accurately and promptly.
f.      Process receipts and donations according to established guidelines.
g.     Update the church’s ministry platform and manage and maintain Abendmusik’s donor management system.
h.     Coordinate events logistics (i.e., meals, retreats, workshops, tours, festivals, camps, fundraisers) including registrations, data management, and financial details.
i.      Coordinate logistics, itineraries, and hospitality needs for guest musicians.
j.      Maintain the filing structure and documentation within Dropbox.
k.     Attend and participate in weekly staff meetings.
l.      Take minutes for requested meetings and prepare for subsequent approval.

2.     WORSHIP SERVICE SUPPORT
a.     Compile and provide information for weekly service bulletins.
b.     Gather worship materials and bulletins for choirs prior to services.
c.     Assist with  the monthly payment of contracted musicians and obtain W-9s as needed.
d.     Archive worship service bulletins and programs.

3.     MUSIC MINISTRY SUPPORT
a.     Manage the music library including distribution and filing of music with the assistance of volunteers, tracking of borrowed music, and ordering and timely return of rented or borrowed music.
b.     Organize and maintain choir rosters, choir robes and folders/boxes, choir directories, materials for new choir members, and the choir room before and after all rehearsals and events.
c.     Coordinate music licensing and weekly reporting of print and livestream copyrighted music (ONE LICENSE, CCLI).
d.     Assist with updating and maintaining Music Ministry information boards.

4.     ABENDMUSIK SUPPORT
a.     Participate in the development of Abendmusik’s season program by solicitating advertisers in coordination with the Executive Director and developing the list of sponsors and donors.
b.     Assist with developing and coordinate printing of the Abendmusik concert programs.
c.     Provide support for Abendmusik events in coordination with the Artistic Director, Executive Director, and volunteers as well as coordinating livestreamed events with the Media team.
d.     Manage the Abendmusik social media accounts (YouTube channel, Facebook, Instagram, X) in coordination with Communications Coordinator.
e.     Provide support for Abendmusik board meetings including meeting materials, communications, logistics, and meeting minutes permanent retention.
f.      Maintain the archives of season and concert materials.
g.     Coordinate music licensing and quarterly reporting of concerts and livestreamed concerts (ASCAP).

5.     OTHER DUTIES
a.     Serve as a backup for other church administrative functions.
b.     Perform other duties as assigned.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor’s degree in business, arts management, or music preferred, or comparable years of experience. Minimum of two years related experience in administrative support or arts administration.

·      Ability to be discrete with confidential information.
·      Proficiency in a Windows technology environment using email, Microsoft and Google tools, Dropbox, QuickBooks, and web technologies as well as customer/donor management systems.
·      Ability to operate office equipment including computers, printers, copiers, scanners, and telephones.
·      Ability to move around the office with occasional reaching, bending, and lifting.

POSITION DETAILS
 ·       Location: Lincoln, Nebraska (Note: This position requires on-site presence and is not a remote role.)
·       Compensation: $20-22 hour (non-exempt, non-benefits eligible)
·       Work Hours: 24 to 30 hours per week
·       Reports to: Tom Trenney, Minister of Music
·       Supervisory Responsibilities: Volunteers

Assistant Director of Youth & Young Adult Ministries

Part-Time | 15–25 hours per week
$18–$21 per hour
Summer hours may increase up to 30 hours per week

About the Role

First-Plymouth Church is seeking a relational, energetic, and growth-minded leader to serve as Assistant Director of Youth & Young Adult Ministries.

This role is ideal for teachers, graduate students, seminary students, or young professionals seeking meaningful leadership experience, hands-on teaching opportunities, and real involvement in ministry development.

Key Responsibilities

●      Co-lead Middle School Confirmation, with a strong emphasis on service, community-building, and active faith formation
●      Assist in leading High School Youth Group and Sunday morning youth gatherings
●      Support and help cultivate Young Adult ministry gatherings
●      Teach lessons and facilitate engaging, discussion-based programming
●      Help develop and refine curriculum, structure, and long-term program vision
●      Build strong, emotionally supportive relationships with students
●      Create safe, inclusive, and welcoming spaces
●      Plan and participate in service projects, retreats, special events, and overnight trips (required)
●      Incorporate interactive activities, games, and community-building experiences
●      Assist with communication, scheduling, and program logistics

Schedule Expectations
Regular programming includes:
●      Sunday mornings
●      Sunday evenings
●      Wednesday evenings
●      Additional hours for retreats, events, and trips

Weekly hours range from 15–25 depending on programming needs, with summer hours potentially increasing up to 30 hours per week. Some scheduling flexibility is available outside of core ministry times.

Custodian (Part-time)

Pay: $19.00 per hour

First-Plymouth Congregational Church seeks a part-time custodian with skills in custodial maintenance.

The successful candidate will be a team member in a dynamic, progressive organization that creates positive, engaging community programming and worship opportunities.

The custodian will:
Keep building and property in clean and orderly condition.
Performs both general and heavy cleaning duties.
Performs outdoor tasks (mowing, trimming trees, snow removal) year-round.
Room set-up for worship services, events and programs held at the church.
Helps monitor and keep the building safe and secure.
Notifies Head Building Manager regarding the need for repairs or additions to building operating systems.

Work Hours & Benefits
Part-time position. Must be available to work nights and weekends.
Salary: Commensurate with experience; $15.00 per hour. Additional compensation available for special events.

Custodian Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of standard cleaning methods and procedures

  • Ability to stand, walk, and bend for many hours

  • Ability to perform repetitive motion for long periods of time

  • Experience with using cleaning equipment, including vacuum cleaners, floor buffers, and cleaning solutions

  • Experience with outdoor machinery (mowers, snow blowers).

  • Background in handling, mixing, and using cleaning chemicals

  • Knowledge of occupational hazards safety rules

  • Communication skills

  • Ability to lift heavy objects, climb ladders and work at particular heights

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent

  • Basic math skills

  • High school courses in shop may be preferred for jobs involving repair work

The custodian reports directly to the Building Manager and Senior Minister as a part of a collaborative, creative team, and could be called upon to work on a variety of projects and issues.
