Matt Talbot during Covid

Matt Talbot Kitchen and Outreach is a faith-based organization which provides meals, medical, housing and crisis assistance. On the second Saturday our youth group and adults/families prepare and serve a meal.

Gathering Place provides a free, hot meal Monday through Friday between 5-6pm. In addition to monetary support, volunteers have an opportunity to serve on the last Tuesday of each month.

Clinic With a Heart is a faith-inspired organization designed to serve the uninsured and underinsured through a ministry of health care. Volunteers serve the first Thursday of the month. Medically skilled and unskilled help needed.

Habitat for Humanity

Habitat for Humanity

Habitat for Humanity is a nonprofit, ecumenical, Christian housing organization that builds affordable housing in a partnership with people in-need. Volunteers needed every fall and spring.

Lincoln Food Bank Backpack Program is a school-based program to provide a weekly backpack of nutritious food to children of low-income families. We purchase, pack and deliver 100 backpacks. Volunteers needed on Thursdays and Fridays during the school year.

Meals on Wheels

Meals on Wheels

Tabitha Meals on Wheels provides a hot, nutritious meal M-F and daily safety check to seniors and individuals with disabilities who are able to remain in their homes.  First-Plymouth has been dedicated to delivering an average of 50 meals each Sunday over four routes for many years. Unfortunately Tabitha is discontinuing the weekend delivery program. We are grateful for all those who have been involved over the years.  We hope that we can be involved with this ministry again in the future.

TeamMates is a program where mentors provide support and encouragement to students through one-to-one, school-based mentoring. First-Plymouth Church has long supported the good work of the TeamMates program.  Begun in 1991 by Tom & Nancy Osborne, this program has improved the lives of thousands of youth looking for a positive mentor.  Mentors make a very small commitment of time each week, but make an enormous positive impact on a young person and enjoy great reward.  When becoming a TeamMates mentor, list First-Plymouth as your affiliated organization.

Abendmusik At First-Plymouth enables talented local performers of all ages to collaborate with well-known ensembles, composers, conductors and soloists to create transcendent musical experiences that uplift and inspire. Abendmusik shares its music and mission with communities around Nebraska with growing outreach through performances and educational events throughout the state. Be a part of making Abendmusik a success, from greeting patrons as they arrive at a concert to housing members of the performing choir, volunteers play a vital role in the growth and development of Abendmusik.
