Associate Minister

Katie Miller is thrilled to be returning home to Nebraska as part of the ministry team at First Plymouth. Born and raised in northeastern Nebraska, Katie previously spent several years in ministry in the state, and she is excited to once again be part of the vibrant faith communities of her home region. Passionate about children, youth, and intergenerational ministry, she has devoted much of her career to creating spaces where people of all ages can explore faith, creativity, justice, and wonder together. Katie also served for six years participating in and chairing the Youth and Outdoor Ministry Committee for the Nebraska conferences of the United Church of Christ and the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ), helping support camps, retreats, and youth programming across the region.

Before entering ministry, Katie worked professionally as an actor and musician, performing throughout the Chicago and New York theater scenes. That creative spirit continues to shape her ministry today. In addition to preaching and teaching, she writes plays and musicals for all ages, including Christmas pageants, youth productions, and even a musical adaptation of A Christmas Carol. When she’s not at church, Katie can often be found hiking, sneaking back onto the stage whenever possible, or spending time with her husband, Chris, and their very fluffy orange cat, Tormund.
