Pastor Jeanne Johnson joined First-Plymouth in 1982, shortly after graduating from Doane College

Jeanne recently retired from Lincoln Public Schools, as th counselor at Elliott Elementary School. She is a Licensed Professional Counselor. In 2011 Jeanne completed the Education for Lay Ministry, ELM, program through Cotner College. In 2012 she ecame certifi as a spiritual director through the Creighton University Christian Spirituality Program.

Jeanne has served First-Plymouth as a Church School teacher, usher, reader, pastoral care team, member of the Boards of Women’s Ministry, Christian Outreach and Mission. She a founding member of the Peace & Justice Team. She sees her ministry in spiritual direction as a way to give to the congregation she loves. “In my UCC polity class I wasn’t sure how much being part of the UCC has shaped my beliefs and how much the UCC just matches who I am.”

Jeanne met her husband Brad in the First-Plymouth Singles Group when she joined the church. They have one daughter.

Among their favorite pastimes are photography, reading, learning, and Travel--including sacred sights of other cultures.
