Stories from an Insecure, Desperate, and Fearful Time
Tuesday Bible Study
Tuesdays, 9:30-11:00 AM, Calvert Parlor. Carolyn Zeisset, leader.
People who lived in the fear-mongering Assyrian Empire felt insecure and sometimes desperate. Their stories can evoke our empathy with people who experience similar feelings today, and help us understand hard-to-read Bible passages.
This study grapples with questions: What Bible books have the most difficult stories? When & why were they developed? What are they included in the canon? What questions do they raise for us?
