4 Pastors & Compassion | Lent Series

4 Pastors and Compassion: Lent Series

Wednesdays, February 21-March 7, 6:45-7:30pm, Mayflower Hall. Led by Revs. Jim Keck, Barb Smisek, Patrick Messer, and Hollie Schmidt.

The origin of the word compassion helps us grasp its’ true breadth and significance.  In Latin, 'compati' means "suffer with." Compassion means someone else's heartbreak becomes your heartbreak. Another's suffering becomes your suffering. True compassion changes the way we live. The Bible is full of compassion. It seeps through the pages of the Old Testament, pours out of the Gospels, and presents itself as a challenge to followers of Jesus. Join the pastors for a three-part study of compassion to include Bible study, a look at other world religions, and how we see compassion demonstrated (or not demonstrated) in today’s society.
