Allen Hilton

Guest preacher and former Yale theologian Allen Hilton will preach at worship and teach exciting Bible Studies at First-Plymouth throughout the fall.

Hilton is the founder and leader of House United, a non-profit dedicated to bringing people together across political, religious, and racial division for the common good. (  He has served on the faculties of the Yale Divinity School and St. Mary’s College of California and on clergy teams in New Canaan, Conn., Seattle, Wash., and most recently Wayzata, Minn., where he built and taught a popular class “Bible for Dummies.” He is currently working on the last chapters of a popular book entitled, “House United” and a scholarly book, “Illiterate Apostles.”

Rev. Traci Blackmon is the Acting Executive Minister of Justice & Witness Ministries for The United Church of Christ and is the Pastor of Christ The King United Church of Christ in Florissant, Missouri.

A featured voice by many regional, national, and international media outlets and a frequent contributor to print publications, Rev. Blackmon’s communal leadership and work in the aftermath of the killing of Michael Brown, Jr. in Ferguson, Missouri has gained her both national and international recognition and audiences from the White House to the Vatican. She was appointed to the Ferguson Commission by Governor Jay Nixon and co-chaired the Municipal Governance and Court Reform workgroup. In 2016 Rev. Blackmon was appointed to the President’s Advisory Council on Faith-Based Neighborhood Partnerships for the White House. Early and consistent response to racial tensions exposed after the killing of Michael Brown, Jr. has earned Rev. Blackmon awards and recognitions, including The White House President’s Volunteer Service Award, 2015 Ebony Magazine Power 100 award, and NAACP - Rosa Parks Award.
