Sunday Evening Dinner Group - 2nd Sunday of October, January, March and June, 6 p.m., Pilgrim Hall. Potluck supper and educational program. This Side of Forty - Sunday evening, six times a year. Topical discussions and refreshments, meeting in various homes, for forty-somethings and beyond. Contact Barb Smisek for information. Church Open House/Divine Offerings meets once a month in members homes. For people of all ages (married or single). People bring their favorite beverage (usually wine) and an appetizer to share. Friendly Service - Thursday, 9:30 a.m. - 2:30 p.m., Pilgrim Hall. Sewing, knitting and quilting for annual bazaar in November, to raise money for missions. Paint-A-Thon Team - Scrape and paint home of elderly or disabled person in August. Coordinated by Board of Christian Outreach as part of Lincoln Paint-A-Thon. Outreach Service - Reading with elementary school children, Christmas gifts for needy, food drives, Habitat for Humanity work crews. Coordinated by Board of Christian Outreach. Men's Bible Study - 1st & 3rd Wednesdays of the month, 7-8 a.m., Pilgrim Hall. Bible study, prayer and support led by the Rev. Jim Keck, Senior Minister. Early Birds - Thursday, 7:00-8:00 a.m., Courtyard Lounge. Stimulating discussion and a light breakfast. Men’s Noon Discussion – 1st & 3rd Fridays of the month, Noon-1 PM, Pilgrim Hall. Led by Rev. Boy Scout Troop #27 - Cornhusker Council's 2nd oldest troop. Rebuilding After Divorce workshop The Rebuilding After Divorce workshop is an 8-wk program designed to help people adjust to the ending of a love relationship. During this difficult transition you may be experiencing feelings of anger, insecurity & loneliness that may be slowing you down. We can help! We don’t fix broken hearts. We DO provide an opportunity for reflection and growth in accordance to the participant’s willingness and capabilities for change within the construct of community (active group participation). Join other participants who are going through the same experience, and learn how to effectively deal with your emotions. Learn how to better cope with your ex-partner. Establish new, healthier relationships with your family, friends, ex in-laws and God. Regain your self-esteem and learn to trust yourself again so you can prepare for a brighter future! The class meets for an hour and a half, one night a week for 8 weeks. The material for this seminar is based the best-selling book Rebuilding: When Your Relationship Ends. Each class participant will be provided with the Rebuilding book, which is included in the price of the seminar. Workshop facilitators are Kathy Foster, LMHP and Gary Summers, Facilitator. Cost: $25 (includes $13 book) Click here for a registration form Grief Recovery Workshop Course topics include: Staying Open to Grief, Grief Recovery: How Does it Work? Confusion About Stages, When Is It Time to Begin to Recover? Myths About Dealing With Grief, Not Knowing What to Say, and Participating in Your Own Grief Recovery. The cost is $50.00 and includes a workbook. Scholarships are available upon request. The course is led by Becky Walkowiak, RN, LMHP and Laurie Reinsch, LMHP. Class Schedule - Tuesday evenings, 7-8:30 PM September 9 — October 28, 2008 Pilates Sessions Pilates is a balanced blend of strength and flexibility training through a series of exercises and breathing techniques. Class offered year round in 6 week sessions on Mondays 5:30-6:15 PM and a 2nd class offered on Thursdays, 9:00-9:45 AM. Cost: $30 for either Monday or Thursday session ($60 for both). SINGLES SINGLES PLUS+ IYA TOWER CLUB 2 OUTREACH PROGRAMS SPONSORED BY THE CHURCH First-Plymouth Early Education & Discovery Days - For preschool and kindergarten age children. Diverse student body. SPECIAL INTEREST GROUPS HELD AT FIRST-PLYMOUTH CHURCH Alcoholics Anonymous - Three different AA groups meet on Monday, Wednesday and Saturday in the Tower Room. Each group is led by trained AA facilitators. Contact AA for more information and meeting times. Al-Anon - Tuesday, 12 noon, Courtyard Lounge. Provides support for the family and friends of alcoholics. Contact Al-Anon for more information. GED - For information contact Southeast Community College. First-Plymouth is pleased to host these groups. Please remember these groups are for support and do not present themselves as group therapy sessions.
