Lied Organ Donor ProgramMusic lovers in Lincoln, and throughout the Midwest, have a unique opportunity to participate in the creation of one of the world's premier instruments. The Lied Organ, funded in part by a gift from the Lied Foundation Trust, has been designed by the Schoenstein & Co. Organ Builders (est. 1877) as a musical and visual masterpiece. Housed in the acoustically and architecturally magnificent sanctuary of First-Plymouth Church, the Lied Organ will be a jewel among the Lincoln community's rich cultural offerings. The instrument has been designed with an unprecedented expressive range and a soaring facade. It will be complemented and enriched by the Gallery Organ, a gift of Miss Ruth Amen in memory of the Amen family. Patrons who have come to expect excellence from the award-winning Abendmusik: Lincoln performance series will delight in the Lied Organ's versatility as an accompaniment to orchestra, brass, or choir and as a solo instrument. Worship participants, including thousands of "Reach Out and Live" viewers, will share the benefits of this treasure nationwide. And the Lied Organ will make possible a series of programs for the community especially targeted toward children and low-income families. How can you participate in this exciting venture? By contributing funds to match the Lied gift, area patrons will fulfill the Lied Organ Project, estimated at $2.2 million. Individual pipes will commemorate $500 donors. Each gift of $15,000 will dedicate an organ stop, a suite of pipes with a particular expressive character. Pipes and stops may also be given in the names of family, friends, or organizations; all will be honored with a certificate of recognition and their names will be permanently engraved on a plaque in the First-Plymouth sanctuary. Please contact us if you wish to discuss a specific gift and the possibility of a special acknowledgement. Every gift, of whatever size, will be gratefully received, and the name of every donor will be listed in the dedication program and entered into the archival records of First-Plymouth. Every gift is tax-deductible to the full extent allowable by law. To make a contribution, print
