Music Ensembles at First-Plymouth
The Plymouth Choir sings weekly for the 10:30 a.m. worship service and participates in many community concerts. The requirements for membership in the Plymouth Choir are enthusiasm, energy, and effort; no audition is required. We work together to develop a unity-- musically and spiritually-- that enables us to share God’s love through our music ministry.
Cantorei leads our congregation's worship at many 9:00 a.m. Sunday services and for other special occasions in the church year. Singing a repertoire spanning nearly ten centuries, Cantorei breathes new life into rich musical treasures from across the ages.
All children in third, fourth, and fifth grade are invited to sing with First-Plymouth's Choristers. This children's choir offers a warm, welcoming environment for students to explore their unique musical and artistic talents, to grow in faith, to experience the meaningful traditions of the church, and to offer their gifts in worship and praise!
ALLELUIA! welcomes young children (K-2) to explore and nurture their creative and spiritual gifts by sharing music. This interactive and fun encounter with scripture and song will encourage the singers to freely and joyfully express their faith even as they build their skills in teamwork, cooperation, and discipleship.
First-Plymouth's beloved Plymouth Brass participates regularly in worship throughout the year, including Christmas Eve, Easter, and Mothers' Day. The ensemble is featured annually on the Abendmusik concert series in the New Years Eve Last Blast.
Lincoln's Summit String Quartet regularly performs at First-Plymouth, contributing its music in worship services, weddings, and funerals throughout the year.
On the second Sunday evening of each month, worshipers gather by candlelight as the angelic voices of First-Plymouth's Schola Cantorum sing meditative chants and centuries-old musical settings of timeless evening prayers. Compline revives ancient worship for the modern soul. Our schola sings the entire service from the balcony, enhanced by the beautiful acoustics of our glorious sanctuary.
MidSingers welcomes all sixth, seventh, and eighth-grade singers! This energy-filled choral experience provides space for the young singer to continue their musical growth in a relaxed and fun setting that culminates in leading worship and other fun performances throughout the year.
Te Deum invites all adults with a heart and love for choral music! This choir joyfully leads worship once per month during the 9 am worship service.
All adults with handbell ringing experience are invited to join Plymouth Ringers. This choir proclaims the joy and artistry of English handbell ringing in worship each month at the 9 and 10:30 am worship services.
Bell Chorum welcomes all adult and high school youth interested in getting their feet-wet with English handbell ringing. Bell Chorum participates in the 9 and 10:30 worship services two to three times each quarter and rehearses on Wednesdays each week.
Orchaband is open to all adult and high school youth who have orchestral or band instrumental experience. This ensemble gathers two to three times each year to lead worship on Sunday mornings.
The First-Plymouth Youth Orchestra invites all high school and advanced middle-school aged students to join the annual tradition leading the Youth Christmas Eve Worship service.
