Inspired Young Adults
What is IYA?
Too often society overlooks or misunderstands the challenges young adults face. Although, young adulthood is filled with amazing opportunities, it also holds a tremendous amount of stress and uncertainty. Inspired Young Adults (IYA) was created by First-Plymouth Congregational Church, UCC. Its purpose is to provide support, encouragement, and resources for young adults to utilize and benefit from while experiencing a state of life filled with major decisions and transitions. We see amazing potential in every young adult and strive to see them reach this potential as they grow as adults, citizens and children of God. To promote this, we have chosen four main areas that we feel are fundamental in positive human growth: Leadership, Service, Spiritual Growth and Community. All of our events/programs are planned to encourage these ideals. In order to accomplish our mission we have developed a functional leadership system consisting of 8 officers. Members are encouraged to participate in the leadership and future direction of IYA.
Who is IYA?
Inspired Young Adults (IYA) is made up of diverse, dynamic individuals each with something unique to share (20’s-30’s age). IYA’s can be single, married or in a serious relationship and can come from a variety of religious, cultural, intellectual and socio-economic backgrounds. We pride ourselves on being an open and accepting organization. We know there is a place for you in IYA!
Leadership
IYA encourages our members to lead, influence, guide, mentor and encourage others to reach their full potential!
Service
IYA promotes outreach and service to the community in order to instill an appreciation and compassion for the needs of others and our community.
Spiritual Growth
IYA supports each individual’s personal spiritual journey. We strive to learn more about God’s character through prayer, other people, the Bible and life circumstances.
Community
IYA strives to create a sense of community and strong relationships between our members in order to enjoy life together as well as to support each other through difficult times.
