New Monthly Volunteer Opportunity
If you’re seeking a way to give back in the new year and would like to support an outreach effort at First-Plymouth, a new opportunity with the Food Bank of Lincoln could be a perfect fit. On the third Saturday each month, volunteers are needed to host the mobile food distribution site to serve our church neighbors.
Through a connection with Jacob’s Well, we learned nearby distribution sites are busy and there is a need for an additional date, time and location to aid those in need. The Food Bank will deliver the food and our members will help package and pass out the items. In addition to the usual distribution model, the goal is to “First-Plymouth-ize” the experience by focusing on forming bonds and making the touchpoint as relational as possible.
“When asked, our Board leadership jumped at the chance to align First-Plymouth with this most basic form of ministry and use church resources to express love more fully to the neighborhood,” said Dr. Jim Keck, Senior Minister.
Begins Saturday, January 19 from 10:30-11:30am. To volunteer or learn more, contact Ron Ramsey at firstname.lastname@example.org
