First-Plymouth Evensong Nov. 18 to focus on what happens when patriotism turns toxic
The question of what happens when patriotism turns toxic will be the focus of a special evensong service at 4 pm Sunday, Nov. 18 at First-Plymouth Church at 20th and D Street in Lincoln. The service, “The Courage to Love within the Borders of Nationalism,” is designed to be rich in spiritual content based on timeless wisdom, with inspiring music matching the intensity of the message.
“We will go deep with our message and music as we explore what happens when patriotism turns toxic,” said Senior Minister Jim Keck. “The service is designed to focus attention on the concept of courage and what it means in our modern context.”
The hour-long service in the main sanctuary will include inspiring music by the Cantorei Choir and Lied Organ. The service is free and open to the public.
