Board of
Christian Education
This board provides
for the educational and spiritual growth of children, youth and adults at
First-Plymouth Congregational Church. The board's work includes
educational experiences, weekly classes, studies, workshops, puppet ministry,
storytelling ministry, retreats, camps, children's music, fellowship cooperative
efforts for special worship services and outreach events.

But Jesus called
the
children to him and said,
"Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them,
for the
kingdom of God belongs to such as these."
(Luke 18:16)

CHILD CARE
Child care, provided by a consistent,
experienced staff, is available in the west wing, lower level nursery area
during worship services Saturdays from 5:15 - 6:15 PM and Sundays from 8:30 -
11:30 AM for infants through threes who are not yet in church school.
SUNDAY CHURCH SCHOOL
Church
School Classes are provided for children during worship services each Sunday for
those who will be three years old by Oct. 15, 2006 through sixth grade. The
first session is from 9:00 - 10:00 AM. Note: we have classes for a full
hour (even though the worship service is less than one hour). The second session
is from 10:30 - 11:30 AM.
The curriculum we use is called Seasons of the Spirit. The
biblical texts we study each Sunday include the Scripture reference used that
Sunday for the sermon. Thus a family can often discuss the same Bible passages
after worship and church school.
More information about the Bible passages and themes of our church school can
be found in pamphlets available in the literature rack at the back of the
Sanctuary or by checking the curriculum website:
www.spiritseasons.com
Fifth & Sixth grade classes attend worship services the first Sunday of each
month - with their classmates. Church school classes are enriched by
opportunities for drama and service projects.
